How do I split transactions?

SOLVEDby TurboTax283Updated almost 2 years ago

You can split transactions in Mint to accommodate for multiple spending categories in one purchase. For example, if you spent $100 at Target, you can split it into $50 on groceries, $25 on home supplies, and $25 on baby supplies. Splitting your transactions helps keep your budgets accurate. Here’s how to do it.

  1. Open the app and scroll down to Recent transactions. Tap See all.
  2. Find and select the transaction you want to split.
  3. Select Split transaction.
  4. Enter how you’d like your transaction to be divided.
  5. Select Save.
  1. Sign in to Mint.com and select Transactions
  2. Select Edit next to the transaction you want to split
  3. Select Split transaction
  4. Under Split into, select +
  5. On the new line, enter the category and amount for the split
  6. To split it again, select + again
  7. Once you split your transaction as many times as you want, make sure the sum of the splits equals the transaction total
    1. You may need to edit the amount on the first split if you haven't already
  8. Select I’m done to save and exit
