How do I set up my income on Mint?

Once you’ve added your bank accounts to Mint, you can track your income by categorizing your income transactions.

There are seven sub-categories that fall under the umbrella of the Income category in Mint:

  • Bonus
  • Interest Income
  • Paycheck
  • Reimbursement
  • Rental Income
  • Returned Purchase

Choose one of these and change the category for your income transactions.

You can also set up an income budget to forecast your earnings on a monthly basis. Currently, this feature isn't available in the Android app.

From the iOS app:

  1. Open the app and select Monthly from the bottom menu.
  2. Select this month’s budget.
  3. Select Income.
  4. Select Add income budget.
  5. Fill out the details of your monthly income.
  6. Hit Save when you’re done.

From Mint.com:

  • Sign in to Mint.com and select Budgets from the top menu
  • Select +Create a Budget
  • Choose one of the above sub-categories as the budget category, or just choose Income
  • Enter the rest of your details and select Save
