How can I protect my Mint account?

SOLVEDby TurboTax31Updated almost 2 years ago

Email service and social media account breaches are becoming increasingly common.

At Intuit, we take the security of our customers’ information seriously. You can do your part to help us protect your information by taking a few simple actions:

  • Make sure to update your Intuit Account with a phone number and opt-in to two-step verification
  • Change your passwords regularly, for both your Intuit Account and other accounts you use. Avoid using the same password for multiple accounts
  • If you read about a data breach from a service that you use, make sure to immediately change your credentials for that service and anywhere else you use them. If that service provides multi-factor authentication, it’s good practice to activate this additional security measure

How do I turn on two-step verification for my Mint account?

  1. Sign in to your Intuit account
  2. Select the Security tab
  3. Scroll down to Two-step Verification and select Turn On
  4. Choose to receive the one-time passcode by either text message or voice message and select Turn On
  5. Enter the one-time passcode you received and then select Continue
